From East to West in Rhona's garden

Dear Sage Members

The sunrise to the east

The moon setting in the west!

But “home’s best”, as the saying goes!

This display features a beautiful jonquilla narcissi called Pipit, underplanted with pale yellow wallflowers

This collection is a pale green ceramic container which compliments the pink and white flowers which include pink hyacinths which flowered last month, tulip Angelique which is a double, which starts almost white and the pink colour darkens as it ages, these are underplanted with narcissi Thalia, which adds height

This collection is also in a pale green ceramic pot and features tulip Gavota, again underplanted with pale yellow wallflowers, the latter not only add to the display but also help support the tulips, which is particularly important in Amberley where we can be exposed to strong winds which break off the tulip blooms!

My blue pots are crammed full with firstly the deepest blue hyacinths I can find, teamed with white tulips and anemones called “Mr Fokker”, plus the odd pink anemone, coronation Sylphide!

A new arrival on the flowering scene this week is the doronicums which make a welcome splash of colour.

This lovely simple tulip is called Apeldoorn and it flowers without fail every year underneath the magnolia!

How lovely to be able to enjoy the spring flowers and temporarily escape from the troubles and worries of the world.

Happy Easter everyone!

Love from

Rhona

So pleased to be reminded about Pipt. It is such a charming variety - one to remember for next year
