Linda's Garden

Hello Sage Members,

It was a relief to have some rain at last, with the water butts nearly empty I had every bucket and large container out to catch as much water as possible.

It does seem to have been a brilliant spring for blossom this year and two of my shrubs have put on a glorious display.

Olearia scilloniensis

This plant is also known as the New Zealand Daisy Bush and as you can see it is absolutely covered in pure white daisy flowers.  I first saw this growing about 20 years ago in a car park in Cornwall and eventually found its name in one of the RHS encyclopaedias.  It's easy to propagate from cuttings, this is a great grandchild of the original that I bought from Burncoose.

Choisya     Aztec Pearl  which I also grew from a cutting, has finer leaves than the ordinary variety and is supposed to be more compact but this will have to be pruned after flowering or I won't be able to get into the garden!

I've been checking out the Arundel Tulip Festival site with its wonderful pictures and videos plus hints and tips from head gardener Martin.  Do have a look if you haven't seen it.

Very best wishes to all

Linda
