Autumn at Yeomans Cottage

Rose “ Scarborough Fair” are having a second flush with masses of buds. Nerine are coming out and Alcalthaea “ Parkallee” a beautiful new relation of the hollyhock, truly perennial and rust resistant unlike the usual hollyhocks; as are some of the delphiniums. I cut these back after their first flowering.

Fuschia has been a great success. I saw it in pots at Woolbedding on a Sage visit a few years ago. It is too big for this garden and will also have to go into pots for next year.

Tithonias have been terrific as has Salvia amistad.

Alstroemeria “ Inca sundance” has been in flower for months.

Canna “ Cleopatra “ has been in flower for months but is now just going over.
Bright pink salvias have been flowering for weeks and solanum “coldham” , White with tinge of blue has now got its feet down.

Acidanthera , now known as gladiolus “ murielae” have been a complete failure, sheafs of leaves but no sign of any buds !

Chrysanthemum “pink lady is just getting into its stride!

Best wishes

Guy and Mary
